Companions focus on new directions in their relationship with God by entering into a somewhat deeper commitment to each other. A community of encouragement is created as participants discover new insights through various strategies in prayer, journaling, honest self-examination, and using scripture devotionally

Groups use material developed by The Upper Room to guide them on a 28-week journey of going deeper in Christian spirituality. They meet in homes to enjoy a personal environment in which to explore the workings of Christ in their lives.
