Speaker: Anna Sanchez
Anna's presentation will include an overview of the multiple services provided by the Department of Senior Affairs including, transportation, nutrition programs, home chore and repair, care coordination, volunteerism and information assistance. The City operates large senior and multigenerational centers in many areas of the City which are much more than just buildings, they’re places where things happen such as classes, activities, sports, fitness programs, special events, meals and opportunities to make new friends. Anna was appointed as the Director for the City of Albuquerque”s Department of Senior Affairs in March, 2018. She oversees 225 employees and a 20 million dollar budget.She has a Master’s in Public Administration from UNM. She has more than 15 years of non-profit management experience having led both the National Hispanic Cultural Center Foundation and the Central New Mexico Community College Foundation. She has become a strong advocate to raise the visibility of older adults in our community and develop initiatives for the City to improve their quality of life.
