A half-truth is a statement that is true in itself but creates a falsehood, whether or not the intention is to lie or deceive. Our intentions may even be noble, but a lie is a lie even if we mean well. When we say God won't give us more than we can handle, however loving our intentions, we encourage people to look inward for strength and struggle on their own, rather than turning to God and drawing on his power. If God can raise the dead, just imagine what he can do with you.
